Painters in Annecy ⎪ Alain & Camille Rouschmeyer

Painting here. In Annecy. Where light embraces form.

We live and paint in Annecy, between lake and mountains, between vibrant alleyways and quiet retreats. This landscape flows through our work. It’s more than a backdrop: it’s an anchor, a breath.

As a painter based in Annecy, I pursue a path between figuration, memory of place, and the tension of the line. My canvases draw on familiar architecture, human postures, fleeting moments sketched from life. I paint what lingers in the passage: a shaft of light on a wall, an unmade bed, a crossing. Each work, often born from an urban sketch, becomes a kind of narrative — a silent scene between space and those who inhabit it.

Camille Rouschmeyer – Impressionist and sensitive perspectives

Camille Rouschmeyer, also a painter based in Annecy, develops an intimate pictorial universe, sometimes on paper, sometimes on canvas. Her work, full of subtle vibrations, explores shifting light, lakeshores, and fleeting seasons.

She captures almost imperceptible moments: a young woman in the sun, a cluster of leaves, a moment of reverie. Her free, impressionist style reveals another way of entering the world — through sensitivity.

Two voices, one studio, one city

In Annecy, in our shared studio, our practices engage in dialogue. We take part in local exhibitions, publish our work online, and offer original artworks for sale.

Our approaches are distinct, yet united by a shared commitment: to paint reality without forcing it — to let it emerge in all its simplicity.
