LA RANDONNEUSE, LE LAC ET LES MONTAGNES
Dans la forêt qui domine le lac d’Annecy, au-dessus de Duingt, une jeune randonneuse s’arrête devant le paysage. Une carte ouverte entre les mains, elle cherche le nom des montagnes qui se dressent devant elle.
La silhouette humaine prend place entre les arbres, le lac et les reliefs. Elle ne regarde pas le spectateur. Son attention reste tournée vers le territoire qu’elle tente de comprendre.
Camille Rouschmeyer saisit ce moment simple de la marche. Le tableau associe la présence humaine à l’étendue du paysage. La carte, le regard et les montagnes racontent une même envie de découverte.
THE HIKER, THE LAKE AND THE MOUNTAINS

In the forest overlooking Lake Annecy above Duingt, a young hiker pauses before the landscape. Holding an open map, she searches for the names of the mountains rising in front of her.
The human figure takes her place between the trees, the lake and the surrounding peaks. She does not look towards the viewer. Her attention remains focused on the landscape she is trying to understand.
Camille Rouschmeyer captures a simple moment during a walk. The painting connects the human presence with the expanse of the landscape. The map, the gaze and the mountains express the same desire for discovery.

A CLOSER LOOK
La randonneuse donne son échelle à la composition. Sa silhouette introduit une présence proche, tandis que le lac et les montagnes ouvrent le regard vers la profondeur.
Les arbres encadrent la vue sans la fermer. Leurs troncs et leurs feuillages forment un premier plan dense. Entre eux apparaissent l’eau, les rives et les reliefs successifs.
The hiker gives the composition its sense of scale. Her figure introduces a nearby presence, while the lake and mountains draw the eye into the distance.
The trees frame the view without enclosing it. Their trunks and foliage create a dense foreground. Between them, the water, shoreline and successive mountain ranges become visible.

La randonneuse relie ainsi deux manières de découvrir un lieu. Elle observe ce qui se trouve devant elle et cherche à le situer. Le paysage devient à la fois une expérience sensible et un territoire à parcourir.
The map held by the young woman lies at the heart of the narrative. It turns the contemplation of the landscape into a careful search. Each summit has a name, a position and a history.
The hiker connects two ways of discovering a place. She observes what lies before her and tries to locate it. The landscape becomes both a sensory experience and a territory to explore.
