Au début du printemps, un cygne glisse sur les eaux calmes du lac d’Annecy. Son reflet l’accompagne tandis qu’une patte émerge de son plumage.
La posture transforme ce geste naturel en une figure de danse. Le corps se replie, le cou accompagne le mouvement et l’eau prolonge la silhouette.
Camille Rouschmeyer retient cet instant où l’animal, la lumière et les reflets composent une scène à la fois précise et silencieuse.
THE SWAN DANCE
“At the beginning of spring, a swan and its reflection appeared to dance on Lake Annecy.”
At the beginning of spring, a swan glides across the calm waters of Lake Annecy. Its reflection follows it while one leg emerges through its feathers.
The posture transforms this natural gesture into a dance figure. The body folds, the neck follows the movement and the water extends the silhouette.
Camille Rouschmeyer captures this moment when the bird, the light and the reflections create a precise and quiet scene.

A CLOSER LOOK
La silhouette claire du cygne se détache de la surface du lac. Les variations de couleur dans l’eau construisent un environnement mouvant autour de l’animal.
Le reflet occupe une place essentielle. Il ne reproduit pas exactement le cygne. Il décompose sa forme et donne une seconde direction au mouvement.
The swan’s pale silhouette stands out against the surface of the lake. Variations of colour in the water create a changing environment around the bird.
The reflection plays an essential role. It does not reproduce the swan exactly. It breaks down its form and gives the movement a second direction.

Le tableau repose sur le dialogue entre le corps réel et son image dans l’eau. La patte visible parmi les plumes introduit un geste inattendu. Elle donne à la posture l’allure d’un pas de danse.
L’eau efface les limites trop précises. Elle relie le cygne à son environnement et transforme une scène observée sur le lac en une composition de formes, de lumière et de reflets.
The painting is built around the dialogue between the bird and its image in the water. The leg appearing through the feathers introduces an unexpected gesture. It gives the pose the appearance of a dance step.
The water softens precise boundaries. It connects the swan to its surroundings and transforms a scene observed on the lake into a composition of forms, light and reflections.
