INTERSAISON
Un homme traverse la place du village sous le soleil d’un matin d’intersaison. Les mains dans les poches, il poursuit son chemin. Un bonnet noir couvre sa tête et de grandes lunettes teintées cachent son regard. À ses pieds, des tongs.
Cette tenue attire l’attention. Elle réunit des vêtements associés au froid et à la chaleur. L’homme semble pourtant suivre ses habitudes, sans se préoccuper de ce décalage.
Alain Rouschmeyer retient la rencontre entre cette silhouette et le graphisme du passage piéton. La posture, l’ombre et les lignes du sol construisent une scène urbaine où un détail vestimentaire suffit à ouvrir le récit.

A man crosses the village square in the sunshine of a morning between seasons. With his hands in his pockets, he continues on his way. A black woollen hat covers his head and large tinted glasses conceal his gaze. On his feet, flip-flops.
His clothing draws attention. It brings together garments associated with cold and warm weather. Yet the man appears to be following his usual routine, unconcerned by this contrast.
Alain Rouschmeyer captures the encounter between this figure and the graphic pattern of the pedestrian crossing. Posture, shadow and lines on the ground create an urban scene in which a detail of clothing is enough to open the narrative.

A CLOSER LOOK
Le bonnet, les lunettes et les tongs précisent le caractère de la figure. Le visage reste en partie caché. Les mains dans les poches donnent à la marche une attitude familière.
Au sol, les bandes du passage piéton organisent la composition. L’ombre portée relie le corps à cette géométrie. La peinture fait ainsi dialoguer une posture quotidienne avec les formes de l’espace public.
The hat, glasses and flip-flops give the figure its character. The face remains partly concealed. The hands in the pockets give the walk a familiar ease.
On the ground, the stripes of the pedestrian crossing organise the composition. The cast shadow connects the body to this geometry. The painting brings an everyday posture into dialogue with the forms of public space.
ENTRE DEUX SAISONS
BETWEEN TWO SEASONS
Le titre trouve son expression dans la tenue de l’homme. Le bonnet conserve un usage hivernal, tandis que les tongs évoquent les journées chaudes. Le corps compose avec cette période où les températures changent.
La scène reste ouverte. Les lunettes dissimulent le regard et ne permettent pas de connaître les pensées du personnage. Le tableau conserve cette part d’incertitude propre à l’observation d’un passant.
The title finds its expression in the man’s clothing. The hat retains its winter use, while the flip-flops suggest warmer days. The body adapts to a period of changing temperatures.
The scene remains open. The glasses conceal his gaze and leave his thoughts unknown. The painting preserves the uncertainty that comes with observing a passer-by.

Démarche artistique
Dans INTERSAISON, j’ai voulu capter l’étrangeté de ces moments de bascule.
Quand les jours hésitent entre froid et chaleur,
quand les corps, eux aussi, composent un étrange patchwork de saisons.
Le personnage avance vite, d’un pas décidé,
mais son apparence intrigue : bonnet noir, lunettes teintées, et tongs aux pieds.
L’ombre portée sur le passage piéton amplifie ce sentiment de décalage.
C’est un instant réel, mais presque onirique.
Un tableau sur la contradiction apparente des temps mêlés,
et sur ceux qui marchent à leur propre rythme.

With IN BETWEEN SEASONS, I sought to capture the oddness of transitional moments.
When the air can’t decide between cold and warmth,
and people wear a puzzle of garments borrowed from different climates.
The man strides confidently, yet his look puzzles:
a winter hat, summer sandals, mirrored lenses.
His shadow stretches along the zebra stripes,
accentuating the poetic tension of opposites.
This painting is a tribute to those moments that escape categorization —
when we walk on the threshold of change.
