The Lovers in the Park is a contemporary figurative painting depicting an elderly couple settled within a vegetal space, at a distance from the urban bustle.
The work does not describe an event, but a state: that of shared time, slowed down, inhabited by a common presence.
The posture of the bodies, seated close to one another, conveys a relationship that no longer needs movement to exist. The bond reveals itself through proximity, through a harmony of rhythms, through this way of being together without expectation or display.
