Artistic Approach

In the spirit of my "Chemin faisant" series, this work explores human presence in its relationship to climate and the relaxed body within the intimate space of a garden.
Through pen and black chalk drawing, I seek to make perceptible the density of the air, the silent vibration of life under oppressive heat.
"Heatwave" invites us to feel the slowed passage of time, the harmony between body and summer atmosphere.

“Canicule” : une ode à la lecture pendant les jours ardents

En réalisant "Canicule", mon objectif était d'explorer la capacité des outils d'art traditionnels, comme la plume et la pierre noire, à saisir des émotions. Je voulais représenter la lourdeur d'un jour d'été tout en mettant en avant le refuge qu'offre la lecture.

À première vue, le dessin peut sembler simple. Cependant, en y regardant de plus près, de nombreux détails complexes apparaissent. La perspective aérienne permet de présenter la femme plongée dans son livre, totalement immergée malgré la canicule qui l'entoure.

J'ai utilisé la pierre noire pour créer des nuances et des ombres, accentuant la sensation de chaleur. Les traits fins de la plume, en revanche, ajoutent de la délicatesse, détaillant le visage de la femme, la texture du canapé et les pages du livre.

J'ai opté pour une composition en diagonale. Bien que la femme soit centrée dans le format carré, sa disposition casse délibérément la symétrie. Cette disposition oblique ajoute une dynamique visuelle, évoquant l'inconfort d'un jour de canicule tout en mettant en valeur la détente de la femme.

La posture de la femme était essentielle pour ce dessin. Malgré la chaleur écrasante, son immersion dans la lecture est totale. À travers "Canicule", j'ai voulu mettre en lumière le pouvoir de la lecture à offrir un moment d'évasion, même dans les circonstances les plus oppressantes.
