Artists in Annecy ⎪ Original Paintings by Camille & Alain Rouschmeyer
A couple of artists between lake and light
We are two artists, two sensibilities, anchored in the same place: Annecy, nestled between lake and mountains.
Camille and Alain Rouschmeyer—an impressionist painter and a figurative painter—live and create side by side.
One paints landscapes, moments of light, reflections of the lake. The other works with passages, postures, and places crossed.
Our studio is just steps from the lake. As for our paintings, they travel far—into homes, galleries, and collections around the world.
Artists rooted in the Haute-Savoie region
Our studio lies between lake and mountain, in the heart of Haute-Savoie.
Living in this Alpine region influences both our painting and our outlook.
Camille’s impressionist sensitivity and Alain’s architectural figuration both draw inspiration from the natural light, the rhythms of the landscape, and the atmosphere of Annecy.
We regularly show our work in the region and welcome visitors to our atelier.
Alain Rouschmeyer – Figurative and narrative painting
Architect and painter, Alain Rouschmeyer has been exploring for years the connections between the human body, territory, and the memory of places.
His work, always sensitive and carefully constructed, depicts human postures, spaces to be crossed, forgotten shoes, and beds—empty or inhabited.
He draws from his dual perspective as an urban sketcher and architect to shape scenes that appear simple, yet carry a deep poetic tension.
Romanticism, which he fully embraces in both a contemporary and timeless form, inhabits the surface like a space that demands involvement.
Award-winning artwork
La Fille dans les Draps Bleus received the Gold Medal at the 2025 International Art Professionals Awards.

Camille Rouschmeyer – Impressionist painting with a feminine touch
Camille Rouschmeyer creates luminous, impressionist paintings that capture suspended moments—often feminine, often intimate.
She paints natural scenes, pensive young women, everyday gestures, and lake birds—with both gentleness and depth.
Her works are at once calm and intense.
They speak to those who seek sensitive, soulful painting, ready to inhabit their home.

Sent sparingly, it extends the gesture of painting through words, images, and brief stories. A quiet thread between us, following the rhythm of our work.
That day, at the very beginning of spring, a swan accompanied by its reflection seemed to be dancing on Lake Annecy, one leg emerging from its feathers.

At the edge of the water, she adjusts her goggles with a precise gesture.
Her back exposed to the light, her skin caressed by air and shimmering brightness.
Among the plays of shadow and reflection, one detail catches the eye:
a beauty mark, a tiny island on the sensitive map of her being.

Artistic approach
In "GRAIN DE BEAUTÉ," I sought to explore the intimacy of a suspended moment,
a captured instant between movement and stillness.
Seen from above, the composition highlights the subtle geometry of both place and body,
while the textures of stone and vegetation whisper the silent dialogue between nature and humanity.

Under the soft light of a summer afternoon, she walks without looking back.
Her blue dress dances with her steps, between a bright meadow and shimmering reflections.
A simple, clear scene where the moment seems suspended by the thread of her silent walk.

Artistic approach
"LA FILLE EN BLEU" was born from the desire to capture a suspended moment within the softness of the present.
The composition plays with offset planes, blending real landscape with fragments of imagination.
The harmony between the vividness of the blue dress, the depth of greenery, and the brightness of the water gives the painting an almost dreamlike quality, where walking becomes an inner journey.
